I want Daddy!!

Santa stopped by the squadron to check on all the little black "eaglettes". He taxied in on a T-38 decorated like a reindeer and thrilled everyone there. Gatlin sat on his lap but not very willingly. As you can see in the pictures, he told Santa what he wanted for Christmas was to get down and go back to the safety of Daddy (OK, so not in those exact words...). Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

Watching football

Daddy's making Gatlin a football fan already.

New playground

Our neighborhood just installed a new little playground for the kids. We have started making it our weekly weekend excursion as they also have a grassy area for the dogs to run and catch frisbees.

Gatlin's new dance moves

Gatlin has really turned into quite a little entertainer! Grams got him a singing, dancing snowman and he absolutely LOVES to dance to the song it plays ("Let it Snow"). He managed to swipe Grams' hat and will only wear that one even though he's got five other hats of his own that fit him better. I think it makes him feel like he's Michael Jackson when he's wearing it.. check out some of the moves he makes! I think he's got a future here! There is also a video without sound. Yes, I know it is sideways, I can't change it, but I definitely think it is worth posting.. He is too funny!!

CARS Tent!

Daddy has decided to introduce camping to Gatlin at the tender age of two and a half. He got this Cars tent for him since he is a Lightning McQueen fan. Gatlin is enjoying "camping" in the media room and he must gather everything Cars oriented that he owns into the tent while he plays. He occasionally invites us as parents to enter his "clubhouse" but it is only temporary before he asks us to leave and shut the "door". Kyle has big plans of a night of camping in the backyard very soon. We'll let you know how that turns out!

Free Wheelin'

Gatlin got this tricycle for his birthday this year and is really working hard to learn how to ride. He is getting great at steering while we push him along. The concept of peddling still eludes him but we think he'll get the hang of it soon with a little more practice. Thanks Grammy!

Gatlin loves his Nemo costume

Gatlin was Nemo for Halloween this year. When we brought the costume home, I had him try it on for Kyle. That was the wrong thing to do because the rest of the night, Gatlin would not take it off! We had to hide it in the back of his closet until Halloween so that he wouldn't want to wear it as his daily outfit! The funniest thing is that after all that anticipation of wearing it on Halloween, he only made it half a block trick or treating before he wanted out of it! He will still wear it around the house if given the chance but, we don't think he enjoyed marching up and down hills in our neighborhood in 85 degree weather just to get some candy that he really doesn't care about eating!
